Mabel Mae Designs

Each Mabel Mae Designs piece is a one of a kind unique design of wearable art. Every coat, evening wrap, purse, leather neck accent piece, scarf and shawls are created in Conesus, New York.

The beauty of each piece is in the details. I use wonderful fabrics, gorgeous leathers in rich colors, combined with brilliant accents such as Austrian crystals, pearls, Czechoslovakian glass, wonderful stones, silver and gold metals and satin cord to create each wearable art piece.

The coat collection for this year 2010, is a loose fitting Poncho style with raglan sleeves and ending knee length with either a tapered point front and back or straight across-just above the knee.

Each collar is unique and hand formed using re-claimed leather and following the natural curve and contour of the hide to form the bases for the collar design. The collars are then accented with bead embellishments, colored hem treatments and hand fashioned snaps. No two collars are ever the same. I make petite, Small, Medium, Large, X Large, and Plus Sizes.

All Evening Wraps are designed with lush fabrics and stunning color combinations. These designs are also accented with bead embellishments. Each piece varies in length to accommodate the various sizes. Standard sizes start at 72" up to 110" long.

Purses are pouch style and reminiscent of the Renaissance era. I use a variety of fabrics, leathers or combinations of these. Adorned with a bead work technique I developed. Each purse is lined in contrasting fabric and comes in various sizes and handles.

Leather neck accent pieces are formed using re-claimed, recycled elk, deer, buffalo, and cow hides in vibrant and classic colors. Following the natural contour of the hides, each piece is truly one of a kind and adorned with bead work and hand fashioned snaps, or adjustable closures. Neck sizes are standard and each piece for sale here has actual neck sizes.

Shawls are of various fine fabrics and all are embellished with beadwork and all have contrasting color rolled hems.

Scarves and Neck Wraps are also various wonderful fabrics, some are lined in fabulous silks, brocades and velvets. All decorated by hand with colorful beadwork of various designs.
